INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY INFORMED BY SCIENCE

Alain Zagorin, LMHC, LPC

Alain Zagorin is a licensed psychotherapist offering integrative psychotherapy services. He specializes in working with clients navigating challenges related to sexuality and intimacy, anxiety disorders (including OCD and panic attacks), self-esteem, identity exploration, LGBTQ+ issues, and men’s mental health. Alain tailors his methods to meet each client’s unique needs, fostering a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment.

Alain holds two master’s degrees: one in Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and another in Career Counseling from the University of Sherbrooke. Alain has also completed sex therapy courses at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.

Outside of his practice, Alain enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, and engaging in cultural activities—interests that he occasionally integrates into therapy. Whether it’s recommending a book or a thought-provoking movie, he aims to complement the therapeutic journey with tools that foster well-being and balance.

Alain’s therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative, combining techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), humanistic and existentialist frameworks.

In sessions, Alain creates a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment. He helps clients explore patterns, build coping strategies, and cultivate empowerment. Balancing humor with deep, meaningful conversations, Alain draws on his passion for existential psychotherapy to guide clients as they navigate life’s big questions and discover their own paths forward.

I currently offer in-person, remote, and hybrid therapy options through Wellness Road Psychology.
